A this year’s show Aquafactors is promoting two new products – an internal window cleaning product and a new heated water system for external pole use.
The ‘Hot Wash’ is fairly revolutionary in its design using a unique heat storage system instead of the more popular choice, in the industry, of using a plate heat exchanger. This gives greater efficiency and control over water temperature which has always been a bone of contention in competitors systems. The ‘Hot Wash’ is very powerful with a 12Kw output and has a continuous flow rate of over 13 litres a minute to temperatures of up to 65°C – this is sufficient to operate 2 water fed poles at once.
The system, which runs off the vehicle diesel tank, can be programmed to a specific start time and will reach full heat in just 9 minutes. Temperature is adjustable between 20 and 75°C and will remain constant within 1½°C. There is an added bonus of an integrated ‘Froststat’. This automatically cuts in at 2°C and diverts heat to a 2Kw matrix fan heater. This then blows warm air around the inside of the vehicle to prevent equipment freezing.
Other features include a diagnostic program, a low battery warning indicator and service intervals of 2 years. Fuel consumption is judged to be 40% less than conventional systems at around 0.65litres an hour. A ‘Junior’ 6Kw version, for smaller vans, will be featured at the show.
